M. Murray (they/them) is a Black filmmaker who was recently in the development room on an animated feature for Netflix. They also previously sold their TV pitch FREESTYLE, based on the stylist and clothing designer Fresh to FX, with Trevor Noah's Day Zero Productions and Gratitude Productions attached to produce. They are prepping their first feature film, WE REAL COOL, with Ayesha Curry, Mary J. Blige, and Leah Thomas attached to produce. A Harlem native, M. is an alum of both the Tribeca Film and Women in Film Fellowships, as well as the Sundance Ignite program. They have worked as a freelance director, writer and editor for companies such as Warner Bros., Funny or Die, Jordan Brand, and Deep Focus, and their short film GREY MATTER won distribution through Amazon.
